special needs blog posts sliderI’m pleased to say there were lots of linkers (20!) and at least two very important SEND days over the last month – Undiagnosed Day and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Awareness Day.

Kicking off with some fab #undiagnosed posts first – Little Mama Murphy wrote a very positive post: Exciting times ahead for undiagnosed children which highlights the great efforts of SWAN UK. Next, Brody, Me and GDD talks about Global Development delay in her post Undiagnosed – a life in limbo, and then the World of Gorgeous Grace highlights the confusion of ‘No Man’s Land‘ for undiagnosed families. Meanwhile, The Long Chain thinks about how her newborn baby highlights the differences in Brought Up Short

Pathological Demand Avoidance Awareness Day fell on 15th May and I wrote first about what PDA means and then looked at the Difference between PDA and ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder). Life with ASD and the rest talks about how to get things done with PDA, and gives some great examples of strategies. Riko looks at the positives of PDA and also provided a very helpful list of lots of resources on her blog PDA and more, and on Special Needs Jungle, Angela reminds us to give ourselves a break and pick our battles.

15th May was also MPS Awareness Day – the post What Does MPS mean? tells us more about this rare condition called Mucopolysaccharidosis. Another rare condition, Chromosome 18Q, is discussed on Diary of an Imperfect Mum blog, as she interviews Nadine who blogs at Caring in the Chaos.

Raising the Rainbows is now on ‘H’ in her A-Z of Autism – why not pop along and suggest some I’s or J’s?! Blogger Mummy Lauren looks at Autism and The Challenge of Birthday Parties and Unknown Unknowns writes about parenting an autistic teenager and School Refusal. Mummy M’s Memories tells us why her blog has been quiet as her family goes down the path towards possible diagnosis, with lots of appointments, while So This is Me Mrs T shares success at school in M is for Merit with us. There’s another post to make you smile, from Downright Joy, as a visit to the dentist is ticked off.

Over on the Family Fund blog, we are given some great advice about bedtimes in ‘To dream, perchance to sleep’ and sleep is also mentioned in Rainbows are too Beautiful’s post ‘The slippery slope of medicating my kids‘.  Faithmummy explores what it’s like being mum to an anxious child, and Someone’s Mum asks for answers on why children are just being left in A Plea to my MPs.

It’d be great if there are even more of you linking up below this month; I look forward to reading them all!
